Photo of librarian working The Cumberland County Library System is a great place to work. The system and its local libraries employ over 160 people. About 20 of these positions are professional librarians and the rest are library assistants, clerks or custodial support. Most positions are part-time. Each library is an independent, non-profit institution and staff are employees of the local library. The library system's administrative office staff are employed by Cumberland County government.

Cleve J. Fredricksen Library in Camp Hill is seeking an individual to perform a variety of clerical functions to support the development department and to lead special fundraising events. Duties include maintaining the donor database, providing secretarial support and maintaining memorial donation records. Leading and organizing the preparation, execution and wrap up of special fundraising events is an important function of this position.

Cleve J. Fredricksen Library in Camp Hill is seeking an individual to oversee the database and general maintenance of Fredricksen’s holdings. Duties include cataloging and processing children’s materials, maintaining holding records, preparing invoices, and generating reports from the ILS related to usage and collection maintenance. This position supervises and schedules technical services technicians and volunteers.

Cleve J. Fredricksen Library in Camp Hill is seeking an individual dedicated to create a positive experience for each library customer. Public Services Specialist will actively assist customers with locating materials and with using catalog, assist customers with self-directed tasks and technology, handle circulation tasks which may include but are not limited to checking in and out materials and new library card registrations.

Candidates will possess excellent customer service skills; the ability to demonstrate tact and professionalism in communications; ability to place materials in correct location and knowledge of basic computer functions and software.

Cleve J. Fredricksen Library is seeking an energetic, enthusiastic and customer focused individual to assist customers in the children's library. EOE.

Joseph T. Simpson Public Library is currently accepting applications for a part-time Custodian to perform a variety of cleaning and maintenance functions related to maintaining the appearance and functionality of the library.


Hours: Part-Time - approximately 3 hours per day, four days per week.  Hours are flexible but within the following time parameters: Between 8:00 pm Thursday and 9:00 am Friday, Between 4:00 pm Friday and 9:00 am Saturday, Between 4:00 pm Saturday and 12:00 Noon Sunday, Between 4:00 pm Sunday and 9:00 am Monday


Education: High school diploma or G.E.D. required. Previous maintenance experience preferred.


$8.50-$9.00 per hour
