 The Cumberland County Library System is a great place to work. The system and its local libraries employ over 160 people. About 20 of these positions are professional librarians and the rest are library assistants, clerks or custodial support. Most positions are part-time. Each library is an independent, non-profit institution and staff are employees of the local library. The library system's administrative office staff are employed by Cumberland County government.

The Joseph T. Simpson Public Library in Mechanicsburg, PA is seeking an individual to plan, implement and manage a comprehensive program of public library programs, collections, and services for children. The successful candidate will foster a professional, positive, team-oriented working relationship with library staff, board members, and volunteers.


Cleve J. Fredricksen Library in Camp Hill is seeking individuals dedicated to create a positive experience for each library customer. Reference Services Librarian will actively assist customers with locating materials. The successful candidate will assist customers with library catalog and equipment including the use of electronic devices.
Candidates will possess excellent customer service skills, tact and professionalism in communications and the knowledge of reference resources of various formats.

The New Cumberland Public Library is seeking a circulation assistant for the Children's Room.

  • 4-8 hours per week

Bosler Memorial Library in Carlisle, PA seeks a Youth Services Outreach Assistant. This position provides library service to childcare providers, community organizations and educational institutions including public and private schools, daycares and other childcare providers, summer camps, etc.; and, interacts with the personnel in charge at these facilities including teachers, principals, activities directors, and Directors. 20 hours per week. Public Services Specialist will actively assist customers with locating materials and with using catalog, assist customers with self-directed tasks and technology, handle circulation tasks which may include but are not limited to checking in and out materials and new library card registrations.

Candidates will possess excellent customer service skills; the ability to demonstrate tact and professionalism in communications; ability to place materials in correct location and knowledge of basic computer functions and software.

Shippensburg Public Library is seeking a part-time bookkeeper. The bookkepper performs general accounting duties, maintains a complete set of financial records, manages accounts and verifies the accuracy of procedures used for recording financial transactions.

The successful candidate will also have the ability to supervise and schedule staff and apply tact and professionalism in communications.
