  The Cumberland County Library System is a great place to work. The system and its local libraries employ over 160 people. About 20 of these positions are professional librarians and the rest are library assistants, clerks or custodial support. Most positions are part-time. Each library is an independent, non-profit institution and staff are employees of the local library. The library system's administrative office staff are employed by Cumberland County government.

The Library System Headquarters in Carlisle seeks an energetic, detail-oriented person to perform accounting and statistical functions for the library system and its affiliated library system foundation; and to assure compliance of those functions with federal, state county and library system policies, procedures and general accounting methods. The ideal candidate has 3 to 5 years experience in bookkeeping, is knowledgeable about government and non-profit generally accepted accounting principles, and has experience with preparing detailed and accurate statistical information in a library environment.


The Library System Headquarters in Carlisle seeks an energetic multi-tasker to assist the Library System Executive Director by performing managerial and administrative functions for the library system and the library system foundation. The ideal candidate understands the importance of library services in Cumberland County, collaborates enthusiastically with system headquarters staff, has strong written and oral skills, and readily provides support to member library staff and the public.


Cleve J. Fredricksen Library is searching for an individual whose primary responsibility will be to shelve and maintain order of materials in the children's library. EOE.


Cleve J. Fredricksen Library in Camp Hill is seeking an individual dedicated to create a positive experience for each library customer. Public Services Specialist will actively assist customers with locating materials and with using catalog, assist customers with self-directed tasks and technology, handle circulation tasks which may include but are not limited to checking in and out materials and new library card registrations.

Candidates will possess excellent customer service skills; the ability to demonstrate tact and professionalism in communications; ability to place materials in correct location and knowledge of basic computer functions and software.
