Block PartyYou are invited to a BLOCK PARTY here at Joseph T. Simpson Public Library on Saturday, February 25, at 1:00 pm.

 

What is a BLOCK PARTY? It is an hour of fun just playing with wooden blocks and our play animals, vehicles and people! We will be hosting monthly BLOCK PARTIES so come see what it is all about and have some CONSTRUCTIVE FUN!!!

 

 

Ages: Children of all ages!

Actvities Club for TweensStudents in grades 4-6 are invited to come to the library to make new friends and to try new activities. A different activity will be featured each month. This program will meet on the Fourth Tuesday of each month from September – May at 6:30 pm. A one-time registration is required.

 



 

Saturday, March 4, 2017 - 8:30am

On Saturday, March 4, we are happy to partner with Grace United Methodist Church at 216 S. Market St., Mechanicsburg, for a green eggs and ham breakfast prepared by the youth group from 8:30 - 9:30 am, followed by a story and craft from 9:30 - 10:15 am to celebrate Dr. Seuss’s birthday!

 

 

 

Ages: Family members of all ages.

Homeschool Book Discussion ClubRead Officer Buckle and Gloria by Peggy Rathman. This club for Homeschool students meets from 1:00 - 2:00 pm on the second Wednesday of each month.

American Girls ClubTonight’s discussion will be about the life of Felicity from 1774 America. This club meets on the second Thursday of each month at 6:30 pm.

Kindergarten ClubAll Kindergarten students are welcome to join us for a fun afternoon of programs based on school-curriculum themes presented in stories, songs, activities, and crafts. We will meet on the second Saturday of each month from 10:30 - 11:30 am. A one-time registration is required. This month's topic is Dr. Seuss.

Dr. SeussJoin us on Saturday, March 11, in the meeting room in the children's area from 1:00 - 2:30 pm for a Dr. Seuss celebration. Brownie Troop 10578, under the supervision of Amy Boyce, will be providing us with Dr. Seuss stories and craft(s).

STEM ClubImagine, design, explore, construct, and discover using Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math! First – third grade children will be encouraged to use critical thinking, teamwork, motor, and communication skills in these programs. This club meets on the third Tuesday of each month from 6:30 – 7:30 pm. Registration is currently closed for this club.

Homeschool Book Discussion ClubPlease read Walk Two Moons by Sharon Creech. This club for Homeschool students meets from 1:00 - 2:00 pm on the fourth Wednesday of each month.

Tonight’s discussion will be about the life of Caroline from 1812 America. This club meets on the second Thursday of each month at 6:30 pm. One girl from the American Girls book series is featured each month with discussion and special crafts from her historical time period.

Students will meet to discuss the’ book of the month’ and make a craft. Registration is required by the Monday preceding each meeting in order to insure adequate supplies for all who attend.
