How to Can and Preserve Food

Canned FoodInterested in learning how to can your summer fruits and veggies?  Join us on Wednesday, August 6, at 7:00pm!


August is a time of bountiful harvests—sometimes too bountiful! Are you looking for ways to preserve your crops? Then please join us on August 6th for a presentation on how to can and preserve food.


Preserving and canning food ranges from making sweet jams, to pickling, to dehydrating. Learning to can and preserve is a great life skill, a healthier alternative to consuming preservatives in food, and can save you money!


This program is taught by Kelley Bailey. Kelley has been canning and preserving food for as long as she can remember. She has taught classes on canning and dehydrating in Lancaster, East Earl as well as Roane County, West Virginia. Her children joke that their basement is their own personal grocery store!
