Exhibit at New Cumberland Library

The New Cumberland Public Library features an art gallery and two locked showcases. All exhibits are changed monthly. A yearly schedule is usually developed in the summer.

The Charley Krone Gallery is located in the Mansion area of the library on the second floor. Named for a local artist who was a lifelong resident of New Cumberland, this gallery generally features the work of local artists. Exhibiters have included the Harrisburg Camera Club, Earl Blust, Stephen Conklin, Lyn Marsh, Richard Neff, Al Freistak, Patricia Koscienski, and Annette Braught. There is no charge to exhibit, and all sales are directed to the artist. The gallery space can hold as few as 12 or as many as 45 paintings.

The main floor showcase is located in the Anderson Reading room and is a six-foot high lighted glass case which is locked. A wide variety of items have been shown in this case, from World War II uniforms to doll house miniatures.

There is a small showcase located in the children’s area on the lower level. This locked case features exhibits geared to the interests of our younger customers. Recent exhibits included Barbie dolls, Batman, dinosaurs, and Beanie Babies.

Contact the library at 774-7820 to request an exhibit time and a staff person will contact you.
