Identification Requirements for a Library Card

To get your permanent Cumberland County Library System card, you must present documents to prove your identity and address.

  • If you have valid PA photo identification (driver's license or state-issued ID card with current address), that is the only thing you need.
  • If you do not have valid PA photo identification, the one from each list below is required:
Proof of Identity   Proof of Address
  • Valid driver's license with old address
  • Valid passport
  • Military identification
  • Birth certificate
  • Social security card
  • Green card
  • Current school picture ID
  • Employment picture ID

  • Local or county tax statement (addressed to you)
  • Current lease agreement
  • Current utility bill addressed to you
  • Current bank statement or pay stub with your address
  • Your vehicle registration
  • Your voter registration card

Or, visit the library to ask us to mail a post card to your current address. Then, when you receive the post card at home, return it to the library to prove your current address.
