Film Forward Film & Discussion: Dancing in Jaffa

FILM FORWARD promotes cultural dialogue through independent documentary and narrative film, using film’s unique ability to tell stories that explore universal themes to ignite meaningful conversations.  Come enjoy the films and if you wish, stay after for discussion. FILM FORWARD is an initiative of the Sundance Institute and the President’s Committee on the Arts and Humanities in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts, the National Endowment for the Humanities and the Institute of Museum and Library Services.

In this film, renowned ballroom dancer, Pierre Dulaine, takes his belief that dance can overcome political and cultural differences and applies it to 11 year old Jewish and Palestinian Israelis. What occurs is magical and transformative. Come enjoy the film and stay afterwards to discuss its implications with Dr. Sylvia Alajaji (7pm showing only), Professor of Music & International Studies at Franklin & Marshall and Joyce Davis (7pm showing only), President & CEO of the World Affairs Council of Harrisburg.  Not recommended for those under age 17 without an adult.
