Teen Events @ Fredricksen

Fredricksen held its first ever Teens Create Contest as part of our Teen Summer Reading Program.  39 teens submitted art in up to 4 categories: Photography, Painting and Illustration, Sculpture and Short Story.  Each category was judged by two library employees whose scores were combined to determine one winner in each.  The judges had their work cut out for them as all the submissions were stellar.  Some were breathtaking, some thought provoking, some whimsical and four simply blew the judges away.

The entire library staff applauds the creative efforts of all the teen artists.  The winners’ work appears here for you to see.

Kasey F.  – Painting/Illustration for “Moments of Love”

Sam H. – Photography for “Abandoned Basketball Hoop”

Melinda S. – Sculpture for “Fantasy”

John Gillespie, age 15 Cedar Cliff High School

Short Story for “The Favored of the Damned” (PDF)
