Hello Fredricksen Teens!
Don't let the winter blues get you down - there's lots to do at the library! This month we had an audience participation presentation of the classic movie The Princess Bride (Saturday, January 4th) and we will learn to make Rainbow Loom Bracelets (Sunday, January 19th).
February brings funny sorts of Valentine's programs. We start with a performance by Rebel Heart Irish Dancers (Saturday, February 22nd) followed by refreshments made by our Teen Advisory Group. We are giving you the chance to show your "love" of all things Irish by starting your St. Patrick’s Day celebrations early.
And don't miss our anti-love program “Wow, I Really HATED That Book!” (Sunday, February 23rd). Here’s your chance to warn your friends against a book. Choose a book that was recommended to you, something assigned to you in school or just a bad read you chose because of the cover. Then, take to the mic for 5-10 minutes to give a dissuade your friends from making that same literary mistake you made. Think about why you hated the book – was it the flat characters, the slower then slow writing pace or the oh-so predictable plot. Was it a sequel that feel far short of its predecessor? How about the required reading from AP English? At the end of the program we will have a list of the best reviewed books of 2013 and the most anticipated books of 2014 to give you a fresh reading start.
Hoping to see you soon,
