9:30 am to 4:30 pm in the Ruggaber Community Room, Lower Level

Safe Sitter®, presented by Geisinger Holy Spirit, prepares children 11-14 years old to be safe when they’re home alone, watching younger siblings, or babysitting. Students learn life-saving skills such as how to rescue someone who’s choking and helpful information like what to do if there is severe weather. The lessons are filled with fun activities and role-playing exercises.

Topics covered include safety skills for indoor, outdoor and on-line activities; child care skills so the babysitter knows how to take care of children of different ages; basic first aid and calling for help if an injury requires assistance; how to prevent or handle behavior issues and general life and business skills as they relate to babysitting.

To register call Cheryl Sola at 717-763-2427 or email clsola@geisinger.edu. Include your child’s name, address, date of birth, your phone number and the date of the class you wish to attend.  The cost is $30.00 which includes the student handbook, drawstring backpack and additional babysitting supplies.
