Fredricksen Library Receives Grant from Staples Foundation

The Cleve J. Fredricksen Library is pleased to announce that it has received a grant awarded by The Staples Foundation, the private charitable arm of Staples, Inc., via the “2 Million & Change” program.  The library will use the grant to fund Family Place Educational Programming, as well as training of relevant staff.

Family Place programs provide parents, grandparents and caregivers, and their children opportunities to enjoy playtime, socialization and age-appropriate skill building with the guidance of trained staff. Participants also have on-site access to local professionals who are able to provide resources on a variety of topics including child development, nutrition, speech, language and hearing and more.

“We are grateful for the support from the Staples Foundation,” says Alison Trautmann, Children’s Service Manager at Fredricksen Library. “It allows us to train additional staff and contract with local professionals who are able provide unique support to parents and caregivers.”

Created in 2012, the 2 Million & Change program is a philanthropic initiative which allows Staples associates around the world to direct funding of more than $2 million to non-profit organizations focused on academic education or job skills.
