Teen Read Week

October 8 through 14

Join our celebration of teens and teen literature by contributing your own story.  Submit "Page One" of your own work of fiction, memoir or poetry between September 17th and October 2nd.  All "Page One" submissions will be displayed during Teen Read Week October 8th - 14th.  Entry forms will be available online and in the library.  Two winners of teen prize crates will be chosen at random from all entries. For teens ages 12 – 18.

Traditional Chinese Painting Workshop

Saturday, October 7 at 1:30 pm

Please join us for this one-time hands-on workshop with Diana Meng from the Chinese Cultural Arts Institute. Mrs. Meng will teach you the basics of traditional Chinese painting and you will even get a chance to do some of your own! There is no cost to attend this workshop! Registration is open and spaces are limited. Ages 12 (with an adult) and up.  

Adult Crafternoon: Canvas Cutout Art

Sunday, October 8 at 1:30 pm

Every artist begins with a blank canvas, but what if the canvas itself IS the art? With a few simple tools, some tracing and some paint, you can make a three dimensional piece of art that reflects your personal taste. Join our three professional crafters who will help you make a project you'll be proud to show off!  Basic supplies provided by the library. $7.50 per person, ages 16 and older. Library for Lunch - Elephants!

Wednesday, September 27 & Friday, September 29 at 11:30 am

Children ages 3 - 6 will hear stories about elephants and view some elephants doing some unique things. Perhaps, you will try some of those unique things? Participants should bring their lunches. Drink and snack will be provided. Cost is $1 per person. Contact the Children's Desk at ext. 229 to register.
