Groundbreaking Reads: The Autobiography of Malcom X

Professor Jerry Philogene of Dickinson College will speak about one of the most influential works of American literature.

Dr. Philogene is a professor of American Studies at Dickinson College. She will discuss the publication of the Autobiography of Malcom X and its reception, as well as its subsequent influence.  A question-and-answer period will follow the presentation.

 

This talk forms part of The Adult Summer Reading Program's Groundbreaking Reads lecture series, in which local experts will speak about some of the most important books that continue to shape the way in which we as individuals and as a society view important issues. Future talks include:

August 26: The Feminine Mystique, Professor Amy Farrell, Dickinson College
