Going Green: What is Climate Change?

Anna McGinn and Sam Pollan of the Dickinson College Center for Sustainability Education will speak about Climate Literacy and the importance of understanding climate change.

As students at Dickinson, Anna and Sam traveled to South Africa in 2011 to attend the annual UN Climate Change conference, where they viewed first-hand not only the degradation of the eco-system due to climate change, but also the devastating effects it has had on the local population there. They hope to clear up some popular misconceptions about climate change and inform our audience of steps that are being taken in our own community to mitigate its effects.

This talk forms part of Bosler Library's new series: Going Green, which focuses on issues of sustainability. For more information or to suggest a speaker for the series, please call (717) 243-4642 ext 3224 or email
