The Friends of Bosler Memorial Library officially opened their used book store "The Bookery" in April 1998. A wide variety of used items can be found in The Bookery, including fiction, non-fiction, and children's books, audio books on CD, music on CD, movies on DVD, magazines dated in the last 3 months, puzzles, and games. Some new items are also sold, such as books by local authors, note cards, embroidered tote bags, and handcrafts donated by local crafters. Items are offered for sale at a reasonable cost.

We gladly accept donations of new or gently read books, newer textbooks,  magazines less than 4 months old, DVDs, music CDs, audio books on CD, jigsaw puzzles (no missing pieces, please) and games.   Donations may be made to the Bookery at the above times.

If you need assistance when you bring donations to The Bookery, let the volunteers in The Bookery know this. Usually they can bring a book cart to the parking lot to assist in getting your donation into The Bookery. If you would like to donate more than 10 boxes of books at one time please contact The Bookery, 717-243-3313, in advance so we can be sure to have space arranged for a large donation.

If you would like a receipt for tax purposes for items you donate, please count the items in your donation prior to bringing the donation to The Bookery. You need to know how many items you are donating in each of the following categories: hardback books, paperback books, CDs, DVDs, puzzles, games. Upon request, The Bookery will give you a receipt acknowledging your donation of the number of items you bring us in each category.

We regret that we are UNABLE to accept:

  • Damaged Books
  • Condensed Books
  • Encyclopedias older than 2000
  • Ex-Library Books

The Bookery is staffed by volunteers from the Friends of Bosler Library. If you would like to volunteer, please contact (717) 243-3313.
