Collection

Bosler Collection

The library offers a variety of collections, services and programs. With a collection of over 107,000 items (books, large print books, magazines, books on CD, and movies in DVD and Blu-ray format), we hope that we be able to meet your informational and recreational needs.

Children's Department

In addition to our adult collection, the Children's Department located on the 2nd floor of the West Wing, has picture books, Early Readers in three different levels, chapter books for elementary-age readers, and non-fiction books to assist with homework or reading to learn.

Featured Program: Meet the Artists

Meet the Artists is an eight-class series, held twice yearly, for children in Kindergarten through third grade. In each series, participants "meet" seven famous artists through the sharing of quality picture books, explore each artist's different style and media through hands-on art activities, and learn to do a simple framing of one piece of their own student artwork. All participants completing the course receive a free book of art activities and an assortment of art supplies used in the course, to encourage more art exploration at home! Selected works from the course are displayed at one of our two annual Gallery Showings, held in conjunction with a spring First Friday event and the fall Downtown Carlisle Arts Festival. Participants must attend all eight classes in the series. Class is limited to 15 participants.
