Thursday, June 18 @ 1 pm - 3 pm - Teen Writer's Workshop - Spend an afternoon learning how to fine tune your writing skills.  We'll have the help of published author A. Duffy Batzer.   In a completely relaxed and encouraging atmosphere, teens will experience a writer's workshop tailor made just for them.  Feel free to bring anything you're currently working on or get inspired here at the library.  Attendees will go home with some new ideas and a new writer's notebook.  Snacks will provided.  Registration is requested.

Thursday, June 25 @ 1 pm - 3 pm - Sharpie Tie Dye - Back by popular demand, we're going to tie-dye without all the mess and with a little more detail control. Sharpies will be provided, you just need to bring a 100% cotton item to dye (t-shirts, bandanas, or even cotton shorts will work)!  If it's nice, we'll go outside so, dress accordingly.  Snacks will be provided.  One lucky teen will win a door prize just for showing up!  Registration is requested.

Thursday, July 2 @ 1 pm - 3 pm - Morse Code - Come learn about the history behind Morse code and we'll put what we learn to good use.  We'll crack some codes, make some of our own, and even create some wall art or jewelry (your choice) for you to take home.  Snacks and all supplies will be provided.  One lucky teen will win a door prize just for showing up!  Registration is requested.

Thursday, July 9 @ 1 pm - 3 pm - Melted Crayon Art - Thanks to Pinterest and our TAB group, we came up with this fun, but messy program!  We're going to melt crayons onto a blank canvas to make colorful art.  Although we'll have a few heat guns, attendees should bring a hair dryer (if they have one) and wear old clothes or a smock (this can be a pretty messy activity).  Snacks will be provided.  Registration is requested.

Thursday, July 16 @ 1 pm - 3 pm - Solar Panel Bugs - Come try your hand at some soldering.  We're going to learn about solar energy, motion and vibration; everyone will go home with a solar paneled bug that uses the sun's energy to scoot around.  Snacks and all supplies will be provided.  Registration is requested.

Thursday, July 23 @ 1 pm - 3 pm - DIY Character Terrarium & Fun Day - Bring in your own small figurine (animal, superhero, or figurine) and we'll make a mini terrarium complete with sand and a live plant.  If it's nice, we'll go outside, so dress accordingly.  After everyone creates a terrarium, we'll relax with some cool snacks, outdoor games, and sidewalk chalk.  If we're inside, we'll get out board games and the PS3.  If you don't have a terrarium character, we'll have extras.  Snacks will be provided.  Registration is requested.

Tuesday, July 28 @ 6 pm - 7:30 pm - Closing Program - Stop by the library to enjoy our end of summer reading festivities!  Teens wishing to collect prizes, MUST bring their reading brackets to one of these events (even if they're not completed).  Teens who fully complete their reading brackets will be entered in a grand prize gift card drawing.  All teens are encouraged to join in on the free face painting, snacks, and games.  No registration necessary.

Thursday, August 6 @ 1 pm - 3 pm - Iron Chef - Attention budding chefs, we're looking for a few talented teens who are clever enough to use random ingredients to make beautiful culinary masterpieces.  Contestants will compete in groups and be judged on their creativity and presentation.  Just like in the food competition shows, a few lucky contestants will receive an advantage over their competitors.  Let the fun begin as we make beautiful food from random ingredients and without access to modern kitchen appliances. The winner will go home with a prize!  Snacks and all supplies will be provided.  Registration is requested.
