Each Thursday for 1 hour after each Teen program, members of TAB have decided to hold an open game time for any teens in grades 6-12 who are interested in improving their game, sharing winning strategies or simply want to play games in a relaxed environment with their peers. We will have checkers, chess and backgammon boards available (or you're welcome to bring your own). All levels of players are welcome! Feel free to bring a snack to share with the group! No registration is necessary. (Group will not meet on Thursday, July 14th).
SRP - Thursday, June 9 @ 1 pm - Card Tricks w/ Mike Rose - Professional magician and sleight of hand expert Mike Rose will present this card trick workshop. Teens will learn unique and seldom seen card tricks featuring sleight of hand. All necessary card trick supplies are provided so teens can begin performing their tricks right away. And of course, they get to keep the supplies, which means each teen will go home ready to perform their newly learned tricks. Snacks will also be provided. Registration is required.
SRP - Thursday, June 16 @ 1 pm - Sharpie Tie Dye - Back by popular demand! Tie-dye without all the mess and with a larger variety of colors. Sharpies will be provided, you just need to bring a 100% cotton item to dye (t-shirts, bandanas, or even canvas shoes work)! If it’s nice out, we’ll be outside, so dress accordingly. Snacks will be provided. One lucky teen will win a door prize just for attending the program! Registration is requested.
SRP - Thursday, June 23 @ 1 pm - Introduction to Drawing w/ Megan Lloyd - This program is for teens who enjoy drawing and focuses on building fundamental skills. Students will learn basic techniques of drawing from Megan Lloyd, who has illustrated over forty children's books. This will be a hands on program that will allow students to start a drawing project that they can then take home. There will also be a Q&A session for teens interested in asking Ms. Lloyd any questions. In order to ensure individualized attention and instruction, there are a limited number of slots available for this program and registration is required. Snacks and all supplies will be provided. One lucky teen will win a door prize just for attending the program!
SRP - Thursday, June 30 @ 1 pm - Apples to Apples Tournament - Forget Gala, Granny Smith and Honeycrisp, we’re spending the afternoon playing the game Apples to Apples. Although we might have some apple snacks, some card games and other activities taking place, the main event will be an Apples to Apples Tournament that will have only one true winner. The tournament winner will go home with a prize as will the runner up. Snacks and all supplies will be provided. Registration is requested.
