Each Thursday for 1 hour after each Teen program, members of TAB have decided to hold an open game time for any teens in grades 6-12 who are interested in improving their game, sharing winning strategies or simply want to play games in a relaxed environment with their peers. We will have checkers, chess and backgammon boards available (or you're welcome to bring your own). All levels of players are welcome! Feel free to bring a snack to share with the group! No registration is necessary. (Group will not meet on Thursday, July 14th).

SRP - Thursday, June 23 @ 1 pm - Introduction to Drawing w/ Megan Lloyd - This program is for teens who enjoy drawing and focuses on building fundamental skills. Students will learn basic techniques of drawing from Megan Lloyd, who has illustrated over forty children's books. This will be a hands on program that will allow students to start a drawing project that they can then take home. There will also be a Q&A session for teens interested in asking Ms. Lloyd any questions. In order to ensure individualized attention and instruction, there are a limited number of slots available for this program and registration is required. Snacks and all supplies will be provided. One lucky teen will win a door prize just for attending the program!

SRP - Thursday, June 30 @ 1 pm - Apples to Apples Tournament - Forget Gala, Granny Smith and Honeycrisp, we’re spending the afternoon playing the game Apples to Apples. Although we might have some apple snacks, some card games and other activities taking place, the main event will be an Apples to Apples Tournament that will have only one true winner. The tournament winner will go home with a prize as will the runner up. Snacks and all supplies will be provided. Registration is requested.

SRP - Thursday, July 7 @ 1 pm - Duct Tape & Paracord Bracelets & More - We're going to use duct tape and paracord in assorted colors and patterns to make whatever you want to. Guided instructions will be provided for teens (guys and girls) who want to learn how to make a Paracord bracelet or a Duct tape lanyard or wallet. All supplies will be provided, including snacks, but teens are welcome to bring their favorite Duct tape or Paracord. One lucky teen will win a door prize just for attending the program! Registration is requested.
SRP - Thursday, July 21 @ 1 pm - Chocolate Olympics -  With the 2016 Summer Olympics right around the corner, we're going to celebrate with our very own Teen Chocolate Olympics! Teens will compete individually and as teams to see who has the most chocolate athleticism. If you l-o-v-e your chocolate, think you know all things chocolate, and have been training for such a sweet Olympic event all of your young life, then you need to some to this program! We'll have mind bending games that will really put your fingers, eyes, and taste buds to the test, so be sure to get a good night's sleep and eat a good breakfast, just maybe go chocolate-free for a few days prior to the competition! Registration is required.
SRP - Thursday, July 28 @ 1 pm - Relay Day - Are you fast? Coordinated? A good team player? Do you enjoy competing with others? Our Relay Day will be a combination of individual and team activities that build teamwork while encouraging hard work and clever solutions to tricky problems. We're going to test your endurance and strength (physical and mental)! Grab a friend and come to the library for some fun and games including ice pops and a prize for the winning individual and team! Snacks and all supplies will be provided. Registration is requested.
SRP - WEDNESDAY, August 3 @ 2 pm - Teen-only (going into grades 6 - 12) closing party - This year, we're having an end of summer closing party just for teens! Your ticket to this event is your summer reading log. As long as you're signed up for the Amelia Givin Library's Teen Summer Reading Program and you bring your reading log with you, you will be able to partake in a movie, games, snacks, and other fun activities. Prizes for participating in our summer reading program will be given out exclusively at this event. All snacks and supplies will be provided.  Registration is requested.
