Wednesday, November 25 @ 11 am -Kids' Bingo for Books - Spend time at the library playing BINGO and winning books! There will be books for ALL ages. Ages 2 & older - kids under 10 years old must have an adult helper. Registration required and limited to 40.
Tuesday, December 1 @ 6:30 pm - Christmas Crafts & Carols - Join us as we sing carols and make a craft to celebrate the Christmas season. All ages are welcome for this family event. Registration required.
Saturday, January 30, 2016 @ 10 am - Kings Gap @ the Library presents Owl Moon - Join us as we read the 1988 Caldecott medal winner, Owl Moon, by Jane Yolen. Kids will be swept away as they go owling with a child and her father late one winter night. We will then learn about owls from Pennsylvania and explore owl adaptations with hands-on examples. Participants will then enjoy making their own "owl". All ages are welcome, but this educational program is most appropriate for ages 4 and older. Registration requested.
Saturday, February 6 @ 10 am - Legos® @ the Library - We provide the Legos®, you provide imagination! Ages 4 & older w/ an adult. Registration required and limited to 30.
Saturday, February 27 @ 10 am - The Early American Kitchen - Join Cumberland County Educator, Matthew March, as you learn about foods early Americans produced, prepared and consumed during a time with no refrigerators, running water or the ability to buy strawberries in February. Learn about some techniques of food preservation including the transformation of liquids to solids and solids to liquids. Make your own butter which you can eat on bread with freshly ground cinnamon as you decide whether or not you could live without your microwave. Most appropriate for ages 4 & older, this educational program will be enjoyed by the whole family. Registration requested.
